According to Flower Robotics, the Polaris system — which was unveiled in Tokyo today — is designed to learn the user’s lifestyle by collecting data, analyzing behavior, and identifying trends. The robot keeps a database of information accumulated through the handset, such as the user’s daily travel and walking habits, calls and email messages sent and received, and online transactions. Using this data, Polaris learns to predict the user’s behavior and offer relevant advice and information.
or better yet, glue fur on it and you got a TRIBBLE!

it is like we are closer and closer to stepping into the ages of Star Trek. I could have a whole TV drama in HD on that thing. And it will still work after i “sing in the rain”

I personally think if you love something too much then you start expecting more…. a kindle fan decide they wanted to push the little train.
What you see there is a Kindle 2 with the Ubuntu 9.04 port to ARM running in a chrooted environment. On the screen you see xdaliclock in front of an xterm with the remains of a “top” command and a few mildly embarrassing typos.
To open up the Kindle, I used the USB networking debug mode Amazon left hanging around when they first shipped the Kindle 2, a statically linked telnetd and a cross-compiler to bootstrap myself. From there, I built a daemon that can convert DRM-free PDFs and ePubs into something Amazon’s reader on the Kindle can deal with.

okay, i have to blog this because it is definitely not about the product sake but just imagining how employees at Philips can keep a straight face every day when they go to a normal job to design a sex toy! I mean, i can’t i would have to find a pun for this kind of job every day cause it is too stupidly funny!
Sexual aids have been in use for thousands of years, coming in and out of official favor in different eras and jurisdictions, and indeed, many countries still outlaw them entirely. As our understanding of our sexuality has grown, sex aids have increased in their usage, with more than 40% of European couples already using them and another 35% interested and willing, but reluctant to enter what they perceive as a seedy sex store. Now Philips has created a range of sex toys specifically designed for couples, taking the genre mainstream for the first time. Bravo Philips!Remarkably, for all the knowledge we have accumulated as a species, one of humanity’s primary aspects, our sexuality, remains shrouded in veil of political correctness, awkwardness and misunderstanding.Sex aids in particular have a remarkable history, having been used for thousands of years, and having been largely the domain of sex shops for the last half century, though it should be noted that numerous such items have made it onto the shelves of department stores, labeled as neck and back massagers, but never with their primary selling features marketed directly.
